The Beginning of Japanese Internment Camps
Observing the developments of the situation by qouting excerpts from DENSHO, a non profit organizaton dedicated to documenting the entire ordeal. Eventually the order to begin the mass relocation of American Civilans was signed by President D Roosevelt. Allowing for General Dewitt to begin his mass relocation effort. At first, a voluntary removal was initiated. Allowing Japanese Americans to move on their own further East. But with a dissapointing success rate of only 5000 citizens out of the 110,000 total living on the West Coast actually heeding the order. More drastic measures were initiated in which a highly well thought out plan was developed to contruct 15 assembly centers and 2 rececption centers to house non compliant Japanese citizens were built. With the WCCA's help (The army's Wartime Civil Control Administration) Japanese American neighborhodswere completely wiped out as every single person was forcibl relocated throughout the Spring and Summer of 1942. With every single citzen, whether they were a Senior, child, adult, only given 1 week to move out of their homes to be transported to the newly developed Internment Camps.
